Shipping door-to-door with IoR

Just updated 12/20/2018
What is a door-to-door service?

For door-to-door we understand picking-up and delivering at the locations specified by the customer.

Pick-up location can be either indicated by the customer or set to Weblogistics warehouse, if the customer prefers sending the parcel to us first, instead.

When it comes to international orders, the importation process may vary depending on the importation license used, namely:

- Door-to-door using consignee's license (sometimes called DAP).
WL will ship the parcel to the nearest destination country's customs and contact the consignee to request a copy of its license and a power of attorney (PoA) to act on their behalf face to local customs.
WL will then do customs declaration and prepare the import duties and taxes document for the consignee to pay. Once payment is done, WL will clear customs and proceed to deliver the parcel at the agreed point.

- Door-to-door using WL's IoR (Importer of Records) service.
By far the simplest way of doing a door-to-door shipment and the one we recommend.
WL will ship the parcel to the nearest destination country's customs, import it under its own import license, pay due duties & taxes, clear customs and proceed to contact the consignee to coordinate the delivery at the agreed point.
The delivery can be supported with a bill of lading or through a local sales invoice, for cases when the consignee needs to resale the merchandise.
